TEMAIKEN

Last Saturday we took a trip out to Temaiken. It is a great zoo located north of Buenos Aires. We had a great time looking at all of the animals and enjoyed the fresh air. Here are a few of our favorite photos....enjoy!

I Did It All By Myself!

Today, Mom heard a couple of "bumps" going on in my room after my nap. When I wake up, I usually say, "Mom, Momma, Mom, Mommy!" and she comes on up to get me. But today, she waited 'till I let her know I was awake. Well, today, I decided my legs were a bit cool so I thought I'd put on a pair of tights. (it's 80 degrees outside) Mom came up the stairs and I was sitting at the top and told her, "Mom, my legs were a bit chilly so I put these on." I had found my pink tights in my dresser drawer, pulled them out, took off what I had on, and put them on all by myself! Mommy was so proud of me! I was grinning from ear to ear!

Primer Dia de Escuela

I went to school for the first time last Tuesday! I woke up and Mom was singing, "It's a beautiful morning" and I would finish it with "to go to school!" I was SO EXCITED to go to school. I got to wear my white shirt with the mushroom on it. (my uniform) Mom took me over (Dad had to leave for Brazil that morning) and my teacher greeted me at the gate. We all walked in and I went straight to the playground. After playing for a bit, a bell rang, and we all went to sit down next to the flag. They raised the Argentine flag and we sang a bunch of songs that I already knew! (except for the one we sang when they raised the flag) Then we went into the classroom and my very first day got started. Mom picked me up later and I told her that I had fun and I liked it. She asked, "Do you want to go back?" My reply, "Yes. I like it!"

La Estancia Continued....

This a picture of the Tango dancers and a short video of the Caballero Dance. Adalyn kept wanting to get on stage....what a girl!

La Estancia Susana

This past weekend we took a little day trip out to a place called La Estancia Susana. It is a ranch where people can ride a horse (no horsemanship skills required) where all you have to do is pretty much sit and the horse knows which way to go, take a horse drawn wagon ride two times around a pasture, and have some great Argentine BBQ. Adalyn couldn't wait to get on a horse, but after waiting on everyone to get their horse she was ready to get off. So she and I went and had a little snack and watched Daddy and our friends go for their ride. We had a good time just being out in the fresh air and enjoying the day. After the meal we got to watch a couple of Tangos and Argentine vaquero dances. Very interesting day to say the least!

Trying Out the Quincho

On Superbowl Sunday we decided to give the quincho/parilla (Argentine for Grill) a test run. When we were looking for houses we were told the joke here is "The Argentines build the quincho/parilla first and the house later". These people LOVE their grilled meats! I do have to say the meat is excellent here! Brandon and Mr. Troya did a great job on the chorizo (sausage) and lomito (tenderloins). It was all so yummy!

Stitches Are Out

The stitches came out on Monday and I did a great job! Mom said I was so brave! We still can't figure out how many I actually had...the doc said seven but mom only counted five. Oh well...it's over and done with. Hopefully, we will not have to go through an experience like that one again!
